Small but scrappy. You don't have to be the biggest to make a difference.

The inspiration behind this design came from a conversation between VC2 artist Vinnie Candelore and Taylor Dozier of The Children's Home of Pittsburgh. When asked to describe the organization, Taylor used three words: "Small But Scrappy."

Those words became the foundation for this painting.

The sparrow was chosen to represent that spirit. Small and often overlooked, sparrows are resourceful, adaptable, and persistent. They find ways to thrive in a world much bigger than themselves.

It's an especially meaningful message for the littlest members of our community. At The Children's Home of Pittsburgh, children and families are supported through life's challenges, reminding us that strength isn't measured by size.

The original painting was created during a collaborative VC2 Street Studio experience on October 21, 2026, inviting members of The Children's Home community to contribute their creativity to a shared work of art.

This blue baby bodysuit brings the colorful Small But Scrappy design to the smallest members of the family.
